What is the Difference Between Venus Freeze and CoolSculpting?

When losing weight, there are some parts of the body that can be difficult to tone or spot reduce. Luckily, there are many body sculpting procedures to help you achieve your desired figure, like Venus Freeze and CoolSculpting. While their names make it seem that they are similar treatments, Venus Freeze and CoolSculpting actually have a lot of differences.

So what are the differences between Venus Freeze and CoolSculpting? The two treatments vary in the process of how it tones the body and the results it yields. Venus Freeze uses a radio frequency energy to shrink fat cells and tighten loose skin. On the other hand, CoolSculpting uses a cryolipolysis technology to freeze and kill fat cells in the body.

Venus Freeze Vs. CoolSculpting

There are some parts of the body that are difficult to reduce even when you live a healthy lifestyle. Because of this, some people turn to cosmetic procedures to help solve the problem. Plastic surgery is one of the most popular procedures to receive to reduce fat, but not everyone can undergo surgical procedures.

Venus Freeze and CoolSculpting are both non-invasive cosmetic procedures, so there are also less risks associated with them. Both procedures can be done on different parts of the body like the tummy, thigh, arms, buttocks, and more.

To know which procedure is right for you, it’s important to look at the differences of Venus Freeze and CoolSculpting. Here are some differences and similarities of the two:

1. Process of Toning the Body

Venus Freeze: This treatment uses radio frequency energy to heat the tissue under the skin and help stimulate collagen, tighten loose skin, and shrink fat cells. A Venus Freeze is non-invasive and one session lasts around 15-30 minutes, depending on the area being treated.

CoolSculpting: CoolSculpting uses a patented cryolipolysis technology that helps freeze and destroy fat cells in the treated area. It’s non-invasive and each session lasts around 30 minutes to an hour.

2. Results

Venus Freeze: A Venus Freeze treatment results in tighter skin due to the stimulation of collagen. However, this procedure isn’t designed for the reduction of fat. The results are immediate and will continue to develop for up to 3-4 months after a session.

CoolSculpting: This treatment yields a 20-25% reduction of fat in the treated area. Optimal results are visible around 3-6 months after the treatment and have to be maintained through a healthy lifestyle.

3. Side Effects

Venus Freeze: There are almost no side effects to a Venus Freeze treatment, but the patient may feel some mild swelling and redness that go away after a few hours.

CoolSculpting: After a CoolSculpting treatment, the patient may notice some redness, swelling, bruising, and numbing of the treated area. The side effects are minimal and typically subside after a few days.

4. Recovery Time

Venus Freeze: A Venus Freeze doesn’t require any recovery time, so you can resume your activities after the treatment.

CoolSculpting: There is no recovery time needed after a CoolSculpting treatment, so you can go back to doing your normal activities right away.

For easier reference, here is a table listing the differences between the two non-invasive procedures:

Venus FreezeCoolSculpting
ProcessUses radiofrequency technology to heat the tissue under the skin, stimulating collagen and tightening loose skinUses cryolipolysis technology to freeze fat cells in the body so it is gradually expelled
ResultsTighter skin and shrinks fat cellsReduces fat and destroys fat cells
Side EffectsMild swelling and redness of the treated area Mild redness, swelling, and numbing of the treated area
Recovery TimeNo recovery timeNo recovery time

Based on these differences, you can see that a Venus Freeze only helps shrink fat cells and not totally destroy them. On the other hand, CoolSculpting totally destroys the fat cells in the treated area so that they can’t grow back. This is why CoolSculpting is a preferred procedure to help attain a more slender figure. However, it is important to seek the advice of a medical professional first before receiving any body contouring treatment.

What Our Clients Say About Us

  • "The treatment itself was not uncomfortable. Afterwords, I felt great. I didn't really notice anything for about 30 days. After day 30 until about a month later, I started noticing that my favorite jeans were not as tight anymore. I wasn't having to suck in to get them buttoned. And by that two month period after my CoolSculpting

  • "It's subtle at first, and then a month later you look and go, "Wow - It really did something!" It really moved the bar for me, and I'm feeling better about myself already. It feels so good to put on anything and know I look as good as I've ever looked. And I didn't say that or feel that when I was in my 20's, 30's, and 40's."
